Junior Lien/Mortgage
Junior Lien/Mortgage is a secondary loan secured against a property, ranking below the primary mortgage in repayment priority. In the event of foreclosure, the senior (first) mortgage is paid first, and junior liens are only repaid if funds remain. Examples include home equity loans and second mortgages.
